Superior Debt Relief Services has been in business since 1998 helping people become debt free. Their mission: To expertly, professionally and ethically assist you, our valued client, to live a debt-free life. This company has a B rating with the Better Business Bureau and lists the following accreditations on their website:

  1. BSI Group

  2. United States Organization for Bankruptcy Alternatives (U.S.O.B.A.)

  3. IAPDA

  4. Certified Companies in Colorado

  5. AG Website

The company lists the following reasons why you should do business with them: they are devoted to helping your become debt free, they work for you-not your creditors, they will negotiate a settlement of your debt (usually at 50 cents on the dollar or less) and they are the only Debt Negotiation Organization to require their employees be accredited through the International Association of Professional Debt Arbitrators.

The Program:

Superior Debt Relief Services describes a 5 Step Debt Settlement Program which will help you get out of debt.

  1. After filling out the request form online or contacting the company at their toll free number you will receive a free quote from a Certified Superior Debt Settlement Consultant. Your consultant will determine if your financial situation qualifies you as a candidate for the program.

  2. If you qualify for the program your consultant will then help you gather the information and documents required to assist you in addition to determining an affordable monthly payment which will go into your own Special Purpose Account which will go toward debt settlement.

  3. You will be assigned a Certified Debt Negotiation Officer who will help you through the debt settlement process, reducing creditor harassment, providing debt consolidation advice and settling your debt for less than you currently owe.

  4. Once an acceptable, written debt settlement offer is received from your creditor, a payment will be sent from your account to pay off the debt. You will receive a written confirmation that your debt has been paid. This process will be repeated until all creditors have been paid.

  5. At the completion of your program, Superior Debt Services will provide you with help in remaining debt free, rebuilding your credit rating and helping you build a financially secure future.

Website Experience:

This company has a very professional website which is easy to navigate and packed full of information. In addition to addressing the common FAQ’s for debt settlement programs, the website also has a blog with relevant financial information and various links and pages which offer a wealth of information.

The only negative I experienced reviewing this company was the lack of information regarding the cost of the client to participate in the program. This is fairly common when reviewing debt settlement companies however it would have been nice to have some information regarding the cost of using the program or how their fees are assessed.

I want to tell everyone that you don’t need to use a service like that. I tried it and the harrassment from the creditors destroyed my marriage. Superior Debt Services complacently repeatedly told
me that after 6 months they would start the settlement processes. I inadvertently found out I COULD DEAL DIRECTLY
with the credit card companies myself!! I cancelled SDS and they didn’t argue: they got their money up front. So that was wasted money on my part. The key phrase when you call your creditor: ask for the HARDSHIP DEPARTMENT or similar. Talk to the SUPERVISORS, the ones with Authority. You can make some progress with your problem without having to go thru a middleman
service. Also, the collection agency I am working with is NICE and they don’t charge any interest, so I’m making real progress at last. I truly hope this helps someone.

Great Advice Artistic Ellen. I think a good chunk of people in debt can negotiate settlements themselves. However some people don’t have the time or patience and some creditors (apparently not yours) are just plain nasty. So hiring a good settlement company is a great option. Especially ones that are performance-based so you don’t have to pay much, if anything, up front.
