Travel In Off-Peak Seasons
Pick a resort or location of your choice and find out when their off-season is. If you are an outdoor kind of person, pack up the minivan and head for nature. A local state park or camping grounds will be happy to have you spend the whole weekend relaxing for very reasonable prices. You can even get a cheaper site if you forgo access to electricity. Get The Discount Lowdown
There are some really cool places that offer a special discount rate night or time. Research what is within driving distance and make a list of the special rates and deals being offered on a regular basis. Include restaurants, museums, aquariums, and other attractions that are of interest to your family. Keep updating the list and you’ll always have a quick reference for a roadtrip.

Take Bigger Trips with Friends
If you are planning a bigger vacation that is more costly, consider splitting the tab with another family you are compatible with.
